C.A.R.S. Doesn’t Work?
What a surprise… It has decimated the car lots (which I guess is a good thing), except for two reasons:
- None of the dealers have been paid yet (personal experience)
- The dealers are predicting that essentially all future sales have been pushed up
To recap, the program isn’t affective as increasing fuel standards, the dealers are shouldering the bulk of the costs, and it may not even be helping the car manufacturers.
Notice how the federal government always lets you loan them money interest free? As in taking more income tax out of your check than is needed? As in making you wait for any kind of reimbursement after you have fronted the money. However, this cash for clunkers problem couldn’t have come at a better time because it illustrates how inefficient the government is, therefore, how could it hope to run health care?
