re 1 & 10,
Do you really believe that the citizens of the US could take the military if the military was determined to crush them?

I corrected some of the errors in this “Firearms Refresher Course” email a while ago: Firearms Refresher Course
And, Johnny, yes. The individuals and the citizens could defeat the military on our home turf. If they are fighting us, they are no longer “home”, but are evil, cowardly invaders doing the bidding of a tyrant. There might be little left to call “home” afterwards, though. Let’s hope the individuals in the military wise up before it gets to that.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but before 1960, armies had a habit of subduing populations much, much, much larger than themselves. Since then, the technological gap between civilians and the military has only expanded.
Cowardly? No more then than now.
Tyrant – let’s hope not. Experience with modern corporate structure tells us a unified command structure is dramatically more efficient at rapid and effective decision making than the current model.
Evil – I guess that’s a judgment call, but usually the victors get to write the history books.
