Same Old Boogeyman
Hmmm, so Raul Castro is warning Cuba against US aggression, much as his brother has done for over 50 years. Look how well it has worked out for the Cuban people.
President Raul Castro on Thursday warned that the US “enemy will never stop being aggressive, dominant and treacherous” on the 50th anniversary of Cuba’s Communist Revolution led by his ailing brother Fidel.The 77-year-old president also said there were tough challenges ahead, with Cuba hard hit by the global economic crisis and the aftermath of three hurricanes in 2008 that caused some 10 billion dollars in damage.
Poverty, poor health care, unemployment, third-world standard of living… These aren’t due to the US, but to mismanagement of the economy and the country as a whole. Look at Columbia. It is doing very well. Amazing what the right economic policies and political systems can do. Imagine what Cuba would look like today if it had free democratic elections and a market based system.
